You're honestly one of the few people I know who actually bought Photoshop. Photoshop and the likes are ridiculously pricey. I'm getting corel painter soon because there's some stuff I don't like bout Photoshop.
Gotta love the insta-cred gained from the "I used to think your way but now I know it's wrong" line.
I'm not saying it's wrong, quite the contrary.
I once thought that way, but my new philosophies suit me more.
If thinking as you do works as you like, then I would only suggest that you continue to use it.
I was just expressing my thoughts on it, not giving instant enlightenment.
I don't believe in such a thing.

It actually looks like a lot of good movies are going to be coming out soon.

Now remember, good is not necessarily obscure.

Sorry, I wasn't reading the boards while the famed Culen was here.

Either way, I am really confused as to what you are trying to say there...

we feel the need too justify everything we do with something tangible. Its not enough too do something we desire too do. Its like that with everything nowadays. Its all numbers and statistics. Even our social lives are invaded by this thinking. (i.e. # of friends = social success) and our love life (success = # of people you've had)
So you just sit by and accept this? Every decision we make is based on some social concept and our subconscious minds adapt to that and basically make us stupid. Some people try to break these social norms and end up being ostracized by everyone for how they look. So, why don't we just lift the standards a bit so more artistic and independent thoughts occur within our daily lives, instead of just in a classroom?...
Im letting this thread go on since I suck at keeping up with em. But just wanted too respond too this.

I dont just sit back and accept it, I live my life as an individual and try to hold values ablove the statistical and mass mentality of society. The problem is that if I try too preach it, Im guilty of infusing mass mentality. I just do my thing and mingle with other people hoping too start a trend of individualization too slowly phase out the ideas of statistic and tangible values over personal ones. If nothing else, the people I care about can be individuals. And then the ones they care about could become individuals, and so on until we wake up one day too a world that is experiencing a rennaissance.

Im not a fan of classroom thought and theorycrafting. Everything changes when you actually get out into a situation that tests it. This fact isnt stressed enough nowadays. People talk smart but get blindsided in the execution.

You know who I forgot in my list of great American filmmakers? Stanley Kubrick. He was fucking amazing: A Clockwork Orange, Dr Strangelove, Full Metal Jacket, 2001 A Space Odyssey, The Shining, and Eyes Wide Shut. Genius, just fucking genius.
