It's been 5 days. When one says 'later tonight", on earth, it usually means in a few hours. Not 5 days. :dead: :dead: :dead: :dead: :dead: :dead: :dead:    :X :X :dizzy: :dizzy: ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ :D :D

Soooo...any chance of this being translated still?

NOPE.

WAIT, I MEAN YES.

I've got a thorough pillows translation project idea in the works, I think I'm going to be foregoing just tossing out translations and instead trying to do something a bit more interesting for the community with these things. Sorry for vagueness, but I kind of want to surprise most of you with something cool, so bear with me for a while as I get things sorted. K? K.

A little rough but here goes it.

FUTURE

Believing in the sunlight, tonight the moon shines too
It shines on the two of us gazing at the far away future
I want to keep peering at the kaleidoscope dream
An ordinary glass sphere
Can become a diamond

Don't let go, hang on tight, okay?
There's always the danger of the next curve
The two of us ride on the shaking and rattling bicycle
Mismatched, high-spirited you and serious me

The light of the city is lonely somehow
A lone whisper over my shoulders
An abrupt descent, I feel your hand
Suddenly grip my shoulder tight

Wherever it is, let's go see the star
That makes wishes come true

Believing in the sunlight, tonight the moon shines too
It shines on the two of us gazing at the far away future
I want to keep peering at the kaleidoscope dream
An ordinary glass sphere
Can become a diamond

It reminded me of my childhood days
Ten years ago I became a proper adult
Still playing around as friends
For just a moment it was still like that now

I won't forget my memories of the smell of the landscape
Or the people lined up in a row

I won't give up on my feelings
I want to face them honestly
While I feel the wind that blows through the channel of time
If we tremble at the end of a era, we won't be free
I want to hold tight
The future that everyone longs for
Take on for the future

@Mare, I'm a little fuzzy on the nuances of this whole section, so would appreciate any corrections.

Hard to get a really good phrasing for that second part, but here's what I got from it (the "lined up in my memories" is suggesting there are all sorts of people stretching back through his life that have been important to him, I think):

Just like I used to imagine in my childhood,
even though I've become a proper adult
I'm still playing around with the friends I made a decade ago
It'd be nice if we could stay like this a bit longer

I won't forget the scents of the scenery
and people lined up in my memories

My interpretation is him having written this a decade after getting his band going...as you recall, there sales weren't superb at the time, even with Strange Chameleon keeping King Records from dropping them off the label (but he could be referring to friends that he had held onto from before joining the pillows, as well). Very similar theme in that little bit to some of the recent songs, like Quarter Friends.

For shits'n'giggles, here's the first half of the song I had translated waaaaay back when I promised I was going to have it done within the day or whatever several posts up, hahaha.

Believe in the sun's light, the moon shines on tonight
Illuminating the two of us, gazing at the distant future
I want to keep gazing into this kaleidescope of dreams forever
I'll make a diamond out of all these plain glass beads

Hold on tight, don't let me go
You can never know what's around the corner
A miscast pair riding double on a clattering bicycle,
you so carefree and I so serious

The lights of the city are somehow sad, aren't they
you whispered suddenly from behind my back
I felt your grip grow strong on my shoulder
as you clung against a sudden slope

Interesting to see the different ways people tend to phrase different expressions, I don't think I'm very good at trying to make things sound poetic...
