One of my favorite songs, and possibly my favorite B-side, at least my favorite B-side in need of translation. So, would anyone be willing to do it?

I could not find a romanized version, but I can at least post the Lyrics Wiki (if there's any need for it, I can also take a snapshot of the lyrics out of the Lostman go to Yesterday booklet).

I'd suggest something like

"I don't even get the lowest of morals"

for that first line, but I have no freaking clue what he's referring to with the "even a tiger's tail is twisted under a heel." It could be some sort of metaphor, but I'm definitely no pro on those things lol.

I could theorize about what he means metaphorically, but to put it simply, I don't think there's a 1:1 equivalency in English.

I think it has to deal with the carelessness associated with the lack of moral fiber. Stepping on a tiger's tail, so to speak, may be a death wish. That's my guess anyway, since it seems to fit into the rest of the song.

Yeah, I didn't think about it like that, maybe "I even twist a tiger's tail beneath my foot" or something, though even that doesn't directly show what he means. It could mean something other than a death wish though, like since he doesn't understand even the worst morals, he does things that he knows will get him in trouble because he doesn't really see why he shouldn't be able to. Good point there though.

I was thinking it was more like he thought the morals were stupid so he didn't care about them, as in the more negative connotation of 'saitei'. But I couldn't figure out what the tiger's tail had to do with it, that makes sense now.

Is there a word for when you step on something and then twist your foot from side to side? That's the image that's popping into my head.

To crush or grind something underfoot? I don't know of any single verb with that meaning.

Stomp?

When people "squish" bugs, they usually turn their foot side to side.

But if you mean if you like stepped in dog shit and then ground your shoe to get the shit off, we don't have a verb for it.

Yeah, I was being pretty lazy when I typed death wish. I didn't mean he was literally asking to die--I meant something more basic; like, if you step on a tiger's tail, you're asking to be hurt.

EDIT: As for a translation, if you're looking for something that's non-literal, but conveys the same message I would put something like:

I'll step on a tiger's tail
Even though I know I'll get hurt.

or more in the context of the song, I suppose:

I stepped on the tiger's tail
And twisted my foot.

Since he obviously knew what would happen, it's more of something that's implied, like in the song. V V

He didn't twist his foot, as in get hurt, he's twisting/crushing the tiger's tail with his foot.

That's not what I meant by that. I didn't mean it like, twisted my ankle, but shrug. Just keepin' the ideas alive.

I'm aware you didn't mean that, but somebody with no insight to the discussion right here would assume that he meant he hurt his foot if they just read that sentence.

Or instead of tail, tale?
