I kinda understand the song and with a dictionary I think I'd be able to do it, but it's likely that terra will soon translate it and way better than me, so I'll just wait.

I take back my words, nor it was as easy as I thought nor terra is likely doing it soon, so:

It's no one's fault, I'm realizing
Probably, i'm, still now, a stranger
Gather the light, even if I dream the same dream (*)
It's just uncomfortable

A love song that disappeared in the wind (**)
A poster not pasted in the wall (**)
My failed present held with both hands (**)

I'm still seeing, I advance on tiptoes
In the rain, or in puddles, I don't care
I soon get dry
If one of those days I stop
Like an adventurer go on, my foot
from road to road (?)

Because of the gaps on the door of aspirations
the fake passport is now useless
Defeat the city, Even if I dream the laid down dream (*)
It's just a laugh in vain

A fandango that hurries the night (**)
A rooster that wanted to fly in the sky (**)
An oath of another meeting with the eskimo who woke up in the desert (**)

I'm still seeing, the eternal rival
I'll run on that back with ten steps (??)
being like me
forever, the evil of resignation
like a challenger, run, my foot
ring the heels

A miscast in any place (**)
A lostman whose monologues increased (**)
Altough I'm not invited I memorize refusal lines (**)

I'm still seeing, I advance on tiptoes
In the rain, or in puddles, I don't care
I soon get dry
If one of those days I stop
Like an adventurer go on, my foot
from road to road (?)
ring the heels, let's go

(*) The first part refers to the content of the dream I think.
(**) All those parts have adjective phrases in them, I couldn't think of a way to make them right in english, though.
(?) Not sure
(??) Didn't understand it, just put so it wouldn't be lacking

You clever people correct it.

this was definitely a difficult one... sawao comes up with some bizarre imagery. :dizzy: you got a lot of it, though. i'll hit a few of the points.

光に群がってお揃いの夢を見ても

hikari ni muragatte - swarming in the light, flocking to the light
o-soroi no yume - collection/set of dreams that are all the same/matching
wo mitemo - even as i watch

僕はまだ見てる 進む爪先を

'wo' indicates 'susumu tsumasaki' is the direct object of 'miteru'. rearrange it as 僕は進む爪先をまだ見てる and it'll make more sense. 'susumu' modifies 'tsumasaki', so 'tsumasaki' is still the subject in the second part ('susumu tsumasaki wo'), not 'i'- so 'i'm still watching my advancing tiptoes'.

街を薙ぎ倒して寝転んだ夢を見ても

'nekorobu' requires a subject (who/what is doing the lying down), and, well, a dream doesn't exactly lie itself down. so i'm going with something like 'dreaming about defeating the city and then lying down'. still not totally sure about this though. i'll look at it again when i'm more alert.

十歩先を走るその背中

saki - ahead.

so, 'that back, that's running ten steps ahead'.

I think I stupidly overlooked the verbs valence.

Can someone post the full kanji. I couldn't find it anywhere (direct me if it's already posted), and I can't make out a couple on the scan.

Also, when you get time terra, could you start adding the kanji to the lyrics page? I wouldn't think it would take long to add the ones you have. Thanks.

EDIT: Looking at the lyrics page and listening to the song, I think he pronounces 永遠 as "towa," which I've seen elsewhere. I've never seen "to-on" before, but I could be wrong.

hmm... yeah, it might be 'towa'. i didn't see 'wa' listed as a reading for that kanji though, so 'to-on' sounded the closest.

i don't plan to add all the kanji lyrics to the site. but i will gladly email you what i have if you like.

If you have time, that'd be much appreciated.

As for 遠, I also can't find わ in the dictionary I use, but if you google "永遠 とわ" it appears to be a common alternate pronunciation (they put とわ in parenthesis, I assume because it is not the normal pronunciation). Wikipedia also has a Towa whose name is written 永遠, and I was amused to find a pet cremation/tombstone site http://www.iiyama-catv.ne.jp/~towa/ that uses 永遠 instead of 永久 for 'eternity/eternal,' pronounced towa.
